Not lately, but, early in the testing it was a bust and I tabled it. Haven't gotten back to it.

We can expect all the bugs will be fixed by July 29. I'm not going to say which year.

I am running Win10 Build 10240, its windows, and it works. Win10 is simply Windows 8.5 or 9, they just called it 10 to be inline with their One Windows project.

Windows 1.0 or One

I'm getting prompts when I start my Windows 8 computer. Says I can upgrade to 10 for free when it's available. I'd rather wait until it's been out for a while, but don't know if it will be free then.

From what I can tell, you can download it and update when you want. I don't think it is an automatic install.

On my notification, it was an auto install. Basically making me a final beta tester.

For those who have downloaded Win10 do you get an image you can burn to disk or an upgrade file that you can save?

If I want to rebuild my system can I start the install from the Win10 upgrade file and pop in my Win8,1 disk when the installer asks for it?

Thanks,

Fromf FAQ

"You’ll need to download the installation files before you begin. If you reserve, we’ll take care of downloading those files for you and let you know when you are ready to get started."

Doesn't sound like an auto-update.

It could be the same as non-automatic update. The files get downloaded and stored somewhere unspecified. You are asked if you want to install. If you say "yes", installation takes place. The installer may then be deleted. You don't have a known setup file that you can execute anytime at will.

Maybe, but one of the other FAQs says you can reinstall from your download to get a Clean Windows 10 install.

"Once you’ve upgraded to Windows 10 using the free upgrade offer, you will be able to reinstall, including a clean install, on the same device. You won’t need to purchase Windows 10 or go back to your prior version of Windows and upgrade again.

You’ll also be able to create your own installation media like a USB drive or DVD, and use that to upgrade your device or reinstall after you’ve upgraded."

I guess we will find out in a few days.

Yes - I installed and ran Movie Studio 13 OK on a clean install of the production version of Win10. Biggest problem is resetting all my personal settings - I'd like to copy them from my old WIn7 disk but can't find where they are.
