Windows 11?

NTO2care wrote on 11/17/2024, 9:52 AM

Has your experience with Vegas Pro been better with Windows 11? I see so many general complaints about windows 11, and my Windows 11 "trial" experience (not with VP) has been very frustrating. VP 22 will probably serve my needs for the rest of my life, and I would rather take my computer offline that be forced to change the computer and OS that serves me well. Honest opinions would be appreciated.

@NTO2care Here a few of my comments about running Vegas Pro 22 on Windows 11 for a full thirty-day trial. https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/is-vegas-ok-with-24h2--147463/#ca926908

I can't tell any difference between 10 and 11 with VEGAS so use the OS you prefer.

Be aware that Microsoft is ceasing all updates - including security updates - for Windows 10 from 14 October 2025. That's less than one year away.

Eventually driver updates and software updates won't be offered either but that may take years.

I am not a fan for Win11, but in order to have the scheduling of my Ryzen CPU to work "properly", Win11 was necessary. I do prefer Win10 to it and Win7 to both 10 and 11. But that's "progress". I honestly, performance wise, notice any real difference between 10 and 11. But going forward, Win11 will have updates. But I wonder if you have good antivirus protection, would it really matter if someone stayed (and millions probably will) with Win10.

To all, thanks for your comments. For my purposes, Neither Windows 10 nor VP22 are "dead horses." Microsoft's "rules" for Windows has become "pay to play," and I will upgrade my daily use computer to maintain a connection to the outside world. I do not produce commercial content, so the computer I use for Vegas Pro would serve my needs, forever. Unless, however, it is impossible to use VP22 without an internet connection. That would be extremely unfortunate... to me, at least.
