System Configuration:
Windows 2000 5.00.2195
SONY PCV-RX270DS
ATI ALL-IN-ONE 8500DV
Driver version: 6.13.2524

I just bought the VideoFactory 2.0 from Fry's and when first running the application it pass the registration process. But when I run the program, the system will hang including the mouse pointer and CTRL-ALT-DEL will not restart Windows.

I than upgraded the VideoFactory to 2.0c on your website, but same problem happen.

I need to know if this has something to do with the ATI ALL-IN-ONE 8500DV? or you have experience anything like that before?

I have to return this product if they are not working.. please help anyone.

Thanks,
chienlim

I have the same exact problem except I'm running XP. I was using a standard All-in-Wonder card with no problems but when I upgraded to the 8500DV the system locks every time I run VF 2.0c.

Which ATI drivers are you using? I just installed the Catalyst 2.2 driver and but I never tried VF with the old drivers first to see if they worked.

I have Win XP, too, and I reverted back to the drivers that came on the disk for my ATI AIW-8500, because the updated drivers from their website seemed to create problems. From what I understand, Win XP is based on Win 2000, which is based on Win NT. While online, I DID run Windows Update, and after it's reading what was installed on my system, it installed a new driver for my ATI video card AND my Creative audio card. They both work still work fine. Don't know what the problem was in my trying to do it myself. For what it's worth...(Buffalo Springfield, we salute you!)

The newest version of the ATI Catalyst driver (Version 02.2) causes problems with SF apps, Opera and Mozilla - if your're running XP or W2K that is. I'm running Win98SE and everything is fine.

Rolling back to the first Catalyst driver is your only solution for now. Feel free to complain to ATI at http://apps.ati.com/driverfeedback/index.asp ATI is getting better at fixing bugs now, but only if many people complain about it.
