Windows Logon required after .Net install

Installed the .Net Framework for use with Vegas 6.0 on XP Pro (x64 edition). Now each time I boot up my computer it wants me to enter my password. It use to just automatically log me on.

Is there a way to get this auto logon back? I looked under user accounts and I'm not finding anything. And the XP logon process doesn't give me any options to tell Windows to remember my password.

Appreciate any help you can offer.

Thanks!
Mark.

Install the latest fixpack for the .Net 1.1 Framework and this should go away. The .Net Framework adds a new userid ASPNET but forgets to mark it as hidden so the logon prompt gets displayed. The latest .Net fixpack fixes this and hides it like it should have been from the start. If you search Microsoft’s web site, it’s all documented in their knowledge base.

Beyond what JohnnyRoy said you can also check out BlackVipers tweaks site for lots of great info.

EDIT - BlackViper site down - mirror is at: http://dhost.info/kyeu/mirror/blackviper/index.html.

Also, keep TweakUI on your machine.

Expand Logon->Autologon->Log on automatically at system startup.

EDIT: Speaking of utilities one can't live without...

JR,

I search the .net site and haven't been able to find a fixpack. Can you be a little more specific?

Thanks.

You can always just delete the .net user account (via the 'user accounts' control panel) and this will solve the problem.

Beautiful! That did the trick. Just needed one more step and that was to remove my password from my user profile and Windows now logs on automatically. THANKS!
