windows media video v8 (.wmv)

Ok I like the quality and file size of this file format. Looks much better than Mpeg1 on my computer and on my TV through the video card video out. However Video factory apparently does not recognize this file format even though Video Factory Created it. I cannot import it to do more editing once I render it to this file format. Is this normal or am I brain dead again?

That is correct. There are several file types that VideoFactory can create, but won't open. WMV is one of them. But then, you shouldn't be editing WMV files. They should be reserved for final finished output. If you need to reedit, you should be using the original source files.

Thanks, thats what I figured. Its just that this seems like a good fomrat to "store" the raw footage in. CDR disks are a lot cheaper than dv tapes I thought I would just render the captured video to wmv then burn it to a cd then be able to go back and use that footage in the future.
