Windows Vista 32 bit vs. 64 bit

i'm getting a new quad processor PC. I can get either the 32 bit or 64 bit version or Windows Vista for the same price.

I know that 64 bit will recognize more pysical memory. What are the other reasons to either consider 64 bit, or, to stay with 32 bit?

The 64 bit version (Vista only) of Vegas Pro comes out next month.
Is that a good enough reason?

All of the current programs (Cinescore, DVD-A, CDA, Soundforge, Vegas, Acid Pro, Ultimate S, Blue, Mike Crash, work in Vista 64.

far as I know we only get the new DVDA 5 next month, 64bit Vegas was coming later in the year I thought.

I'd not heard that it comes out next month. Just an upgrade to DVDa.

DVDA 5 will ship in mid-June, see this press release from SCS:

There is no official release date for Vegas 64 as far as I know.
