Windows XP Opens Vegas Automatically

DavidPJ wrote on 1/3/2004, 7:14 AM
I recently upgraded from Win98 to XP. After upgrading and connecting the DV cam for lthe first time, XP prompted me to choose the action to occur whenever the camera is recognized. Unfortunately, I chose the Vegas application. Now whenever I connect and power on the camera, an instance of Vegas is opened which typically is the second instance because I already have Vegas opened.

Where do I tell XP not to do any action upon recognizing the DV cam? I checked the camera's properites but it's not there. Thanks.

Dave

Go to your control panel>system>hardware, and uninstall the 1394 driver. Then View>search for new hardware, with the camera/deck disconnected. This should delete the preference and will allow you to choose again.
You can also look at the camera properties, and choose the Event tab, and choose behavior for the camera when it's plugged in from that point as well.

Spot,

Thanks for the info. I'll have to delete the 1394 driver, as my DV camera's properites does not have an event tab or any other option for changing the camera's behavior.
