WinDVD...huh?

Hello,

Although I posted a similar question in the Vegas forum, I'm just wondering what this side of the fence would have to say about my problem.

I authored a 24p DVD using the DVDA presets from vegas for the MPEG2 video and stereo AC3 audio streams. It played fine in my set top box. Tried it with WinDVD 6, however, and the audio quit after 20 seconds. Keep in mind that WinDVD 6 has worked for every commercial disk I've ever played, and a prior 5.1 disk I made (not 24p, though). So, I upgraded to version 7, and still the same thing. I then reactivated my old version 5, and the DVD played mostly ok except for an audio glitch in one scene were the motion seemed to pick up. Most interestingly, Windows Media Player (which borrows codecs from WinDVD), worked flawlessly. Why do you suppose this disk is different, and what could make WinDVD tank like that?
