"Larry" is Larry Fisher, the president of Lectrosonics. HE won't give me one no matter how much I beg.

...the president of Lectrosonics.

Ahh. I understand. I've found that crying (along with a good story) can work wonders sometimes :-)
Or tell him that you're doing a review for the Sony Vegas forum and that there's sales potential in it.

Before anyone rushes out and buys wireless mics.
Unless you're buying from a local dealer just check that the frequencies they use are legit in your country. I'd hate someone to spend a motza importing some beautiful kit only to find they had to share the spectrum with the local tow trck operators.
For what it's worth the best ones would appear to use spread spectrum RF links. Pretty expensive stuff I suspect.
I've seen some beauties from a US company, QSX I think was their name. Tx units could be hidden in a gridiron players padding and enough channels for each player to be miced. Rx units at the time were not suitable for ENG.

I LOVE the U100. Just finished a shoot in a horrible industrial area, lotsa military radio, security, metal walls, laser scanners, it was all nutsy. They worked fine. (we had 2)
