WMF and the video slider

Is there a way to get the slider to work on a wmf file streaming from a web server? If I play it from my local drive, I can use the slider to move forward and backward. If I play it from my web server, the slider is greyed out. Any suggestions?

someone once posted that moving the streaming media file to a sub-folder on the server (and adjusting the Media Server properties to point to the new folder of course) solved that problem. OR it could have been the other way around. (it was in a sub-folder, and they moved it to the root folder of a drive and the seek bar mysteriously worked after that)
