Don't know why yours won't, but wmvs, video and audio, are fine on my V5 timeline.

Did you create the wmv in Vegas?

No i didn't. I just got it off a computer at my school. So yea...anybody else know how?

Oh, i can open it in winamp3 and windows media player 9. So yea

I can't guarantee it will work, but try this:

Install ffdshow.
Then from the Start menu select ffdshow -> VFW Configuration -> Decoder tab.
Enable decoding of WMV (three versions) by clicking on disabled and changing it to libavcodec or wmv9.
Now try to open your WMV file with Vegas.

If it still doesn't work you may be able to convert your wmv file to avi.
