won't import audio

I just bought the Vegas Movie Studio 9. It imports my mini dvd footage from my mini dvd sony camcorder, however, no audio whatsoever. It DOES however import the audio from my older dig 8mm video camera. Why is this? What am I doing wrong? I bought it specifically to edit my mini dvd footage.

Any help is appreciated,
thanks

How are you trying to import the DVD footage?

I've imported everyway I know how. I've captured straight from the camera, which poses other problems, it won't let me do an advanced import. Also, I've put the mini dvd in the DVD player and imported it from there. Nothing.

You need to roll back your Quicktime Player to version 7.6.2 or earlier. You will also need to reinstall iTunes 8.

Your best method of importing in Vegas is File->Import->DVD Camcorder Disc.

I had the same problem with Sony Vegas not reading the audio from my video files from my flip Mino HD. Before I undertook the uninstalling itumes and quick time I asked around and found this solution - it works great

Try first converting the files from the flip using this program first

http://www.any-video-converter.com/products/for_video_free/

Use the divx .avi version... convert on all the highest settings ( I used the custom avi choice)

Then see if that file works in Vegas - it worked fine for me.
Hope this helps others
