wont load avi or mp3 or any of the other formats that i have

ive had movie studio 9 for years, i just upgraded to movie studio 17 today and i cant put any video format on the line, AVI would be nice, is there a way that it can accept that or what format do i need, ? I already tried mp4 and four other video formats, and nothing seems to be working, im on windows 10, any help would be much appreciated
