I'm going to make my first DVD and I want it to be anamorphic widescreen. Although I love Movie Studio (Video Factory) for editing there seems to be a few features that I need missing.
I'd like to display times and dates of when certain video clips are taken but it's not possible. I've had to download Scenalyzer just to check the time/date stamp.
I'd like to save in anamorphic widescreen MPG2 but it seems the Main Concept encoder can only handle letterbox widescreen. Plus, there are no options for quality or bitrate, etc. It looks like I'll have to use TMPGEnc.
So, my workflow will be:
Capture video - Screenblast Movie Studio
Edit video - Movie Studio + Scenalyzer
Render video as AVI - Movie Studio
Convert to MPEG2 - TMPGEnc
Author DVD - some DVD authoring software
Does this sound right? Should I just skip converting AVI to MPEG2 and go straight to DVD authoring? I don't trust the AVI-to-MPEG2 quality of DVD authoring software though.
How do you create your own anamorphic widescreen DVDs without having to upgrade to Vegas?
