Hello all,
I've just finished my first HD project (shot from HDR-HC7 1440x1080 60i, captured by Sony HD Capture utility as mt2 files), being 13 chapters and 2:27:00 long (!!).
Ok, I rendered the different chapters separetly on Vegas 8.0b as Mpeg2 1440x1080 60i (best settings, 31, etc) m2t files. I then added such files to the timeline of a new project and rendered the whole thing to mpeg2 blu-ray template 1440x1080 60i 25mbs. I did the corresponding audio file as AC3 Pro 192kbs.
I managed to import in DVD5.0 and succesfuly burn a DL blu-ray disc (35gb!) with functionning menus and all. Played great on Sony Bravia with Sony blu-ray player.
The sound is great but the image somehow lost in quality and brightness (compared to some of the same mt2 files when viewed with camera after m2t render and print-to-tape). The fast moving items are jerky (I notice that this happens on sections upon which I used Sony color corrections) and some other effects.
My question: is the workflow degrading the image quality (i.e a first render to m2ts and a second render to blu-ray template 25mbs) ? I guess I could probably load the 13 *.veg files on the timeline and do a single render (blu-ray 1440x1080 60i 25mbs), but I'm not sure that my equipment can handle it. I also noticed that the blu-ray properties of DVD5.0 was at 18mbs by default, although no recompression was required upon burning the disc.
Advices would be appreciated. Tks !!
Nx
