What would be the best way to work from two PCs?

I have a desktop PC at my office and a desktop PC at home. I'm looking for the best solution so I can start my edits on one device and finish or continue them on the other.

I work with 8- and 10-bit 4K files.

How do you do this?
Do you think it's possible to copy all the files internally to each PC and transfer the project backup each time?

Do you think it's possible to store the rushes on an external SSD?
What USB port and SSD speed do I need? So far, I've been working with rushes on an internal M.2 NVME SSD.
