Working with files from PMW-EX1 XD

I have a new PMW-EX1, have shot some great video...now I can't get it off the camera to work with it. I have the USB drive for the SxS memory card, I open up Vegas Video 8.0 with the XD Explorer and the to import XDCAM Disc and I put in the root of the USB drive and I simply get The XDCAM disc import process failed.

I have also tried to use the XDCAM EX clip browser software, but each time I try to export an .MXF I get unsupported file type.

I have also tried connecting the camera as well and I get the same errors. Any guidance?

Have you installed the clip browser from the cd that ships with your EX1? If so, get it from your Sony website, it's been updated!

The XDCAM disc import in Vegas Pro 8 is for XDCAM HD at this time, not for the EX1. You must use the clip browser, and convert the .mp4 files to .mxf format before you'll be able to access/promote them to a Vegas timeline
