Would this cure the AVCHD blues?

I live in PAL land, maybe this is the reason I have no AVCHD blues.
AVCHD plays back fine on my Vegas time line. When adding effects, it slows down. Then I render my footages out to MXF proxies. These play back fine, also when adding effects.
When it it time to render out the final master, I either use the MXF proxies as is, or switch back to the original AVCHD files.

There must be some important issues I must overlook, that are obvious to others, because I myself see no need for Cineform in my workflow. In any case, if MXF is not an option, what is the drawback of using image sequences instead of Cineform?

Have you looked at the DVFilm Epic I product? It's really limited in scope but it does this with AVCHD MOV files in Vegas. Unfortunately my GH1 produces MTS files rather than MOV so it seems that the tool doesn't see them.

DVFilm Epic II will support AVCHD files. It will be available summer 2010.
