Tried to post something tonight and found I had to got through the - forgot my password/email me a new one - thing.

I never had a problem with the forum before, even after the new look. Tonight I'm joining Zippy in the THIS SUCKS opinion.

Has anyone else noticed that things are slower than snail snot in these forums now too?

-A previously happy customer

Hope these are short time teething problems.

When things changed......like they changed the look of the website.....we expect to have problems.....i do understand that they maybe can not perfectly change it .....maybe for technical reasons......

We may need to bear with them sometimes.

The only thing i dont understand is that.....WHY THEY DID NOT INFORM BEFOREHAND.....or was there any? on the board or email.......so we are ready to expect these changes......

We are sorry for the inconveniece done by these changes!!!!!!

Take a look at the URL for the forums. It used to be http://www.sonicfoundry.com/forums/ShowTopics.asp?ForumID=4

Now it's mediasoftware.sonypictures.blah blah blah.

Your computer remembers the pass word from sonicfoundry.com. Tthere is a redirect to the new site. Pass words don't transfer with the redirect.
Be thankful for that. Think of on line banking highjackers.

Change is good

I'm curious. Where did people find the "mediasoftware.sonypictures" URL? I haven't seen it posted officially anywhere. I'm still browsing "www.sonicfoundry.com". Nothing on the site anywhere tells me there is a new URL. All links still come up under the old URL. Yes, the new one does work for me, but i would never have known about it except from a few end-user posts here in the forum.

Maybe I don't understand your question. I was looking at the browser address at the top of my browser when viewing this forum.

When I went to my bookmarked Sonic VV forum I was redirected to the mediasoft page. I have now updated my bookmark to mediasoft.

As a web designer I know that things often don't go "smoothly" when transfering large amounts of data from one server to another. It is expected that there will be bugs for a day or two, but it looks like they have everything up and running now (knock, knock).

yeah - slow. For a while nothing would come up and than for a while everything to do with the forums or any "sony" product was redirected to the www.screenblast.com site with an error saying "Your request could not be processed at this time". Now it all "works" but it is still slow. I had heard this in the past from people who used the Sony brand SoFo stuff - that the Sony sites loaded slow. Now I guess we all get to see this first hand.

Password thing seemed/seems to be a cokkie thing. I had to re-log in as well but now it just seems to do it automaticly even though I did not check any sort of "remember me" type thing. I also notice that the "Subject:" remains the same as th elast post I made. So no matter what I am replying to it says whatever I last replied to - I had to cut and past the title of this reply or else it would have said something else.

Growing pains some my call it but FWIW the SoFo site was very nice as were the forums. The look was nicer IMO and everything loaded faster. Yeah, ok - the "look" here is more or less the same, just the color scheme is boring and dull. And you know - it is Sony. I shudder to think if I upgrade to VV 5 I will be using "Sony" stuff. Maybe they can release a "SoFo" branded version as well. LOL.

P.S - from the time I hit the post message button to the time it actual loaded the page - aprox 3 minutes 45 seconds. Sucks.
