XAVC MXF files - playback problems

Has anybody else have a problem playing back XAVC MXF files? I find that whenever I try to play 4k XAVC Long GOP files (in an mxf wrapper) that were encoded in Vegas they playback at 1-3 fps.

I tried to import the same files into Final Cut Pro and it was unable to read the video from the file. So perhaps there is something wrong with the MXF file that Vegas is creating.

XVC-S files from my camera (FDR-AX100) playback fairly well (few frames dropped when at key frames/scene changes etc), as well as XVC-S encoded files form Vegas.

Computer is not really a slouch by any means. 4770k (i7 quad 3.5ghz), 32GB RAM, 3x SSD drives, and a GTX 970.

Really?? That is interesting. I am looking a GIGABYTE Radeon R9 390 G1 1025MHZ 8GB 6.0GHZ GDDR5.

Specs seems decent, price is about the same as the GTX 970, and I keep hearing that AMD beats Nvidia for Vegas ;-).... so I think I will give it a try.

It cannot be any worse. And if it still does not get the results I am looking for, I guess nothing will :-)

OK, got the R9 390, just ran some benchmarks only thus far...

The LuxMark Hotel benchmark got 2915, that is much better! And CompuBench had better scores accross the board. 120 fps for Video Composition.

This GPU runs hotter than the GTX 970 did though, and during the tests the fan kicked up a lot and was a tad loud.

OK Off to see how well it does in Vegas.
