Thanks Jay - thankfully this seems to be faster than the previous version - a 5min 31 sec clip took about 90 sec to convert to MXF.

Thanks Jay. Have installed it but not yet tested. I noted that I was supposed to uninstall the old version before installing the new, but couldn't find a way to do that in Vista. It must be there somewhere! Didn't seem to matter, anyway.

Sorry I can't be of any help to you, Serena. I'm not using Vista at this time.

Did they do away with the Control Panel in Vista?

===========
No. To uninstall a program:

1. Start button (looks like a globe with the MS logo in it.

2. Control Panel

3. In Vista view look under Programs for "Uninstall a program". In Classic View look under the Programs and Features Icon

4. There is a tutorial if you need it here.

Thanks for that.

This is one reason why some time ago I said to always keep cloned backups of the cards. If you'd only kept the MXFs you've lost the option to have the new clipbrowser correct this issue.

Thanks John. I'd peered at all the icons of control panel expecting to find one for install/uninstall, and looked at some that looked promising (but weren't). Somehow "programs and features" didn't attract my attention. A continuing joy of Vista is discovering where they've hidden commands, particularly in Office software. I guess they brought in a completely fresh team, kids who had never used Microsoft (I wonder where they found them -- probably Apple subversives).
