XDCAM export problems

Originally sent this to customer service/tech support and got no reply. I suppose since I'm just testing a trial version of 7 my issue isn't seen as very signifigant, but considering I already own a copy of 6 and this is what hinges on me upgrading I thought they would at least give me some support on it. Hopefully another user has come across this issue and can help.

Anyway, here's the problem...

I've just recently installed a copy of Vegas 7.0a to play around with so that I may test out the XDCAM support. I must say that I was impressed up until the point I attempted to dump something back down to the disc. I am pulling everying into the disc in FAM mode. I was able to pull in the proxy, edit, and then conform the video just fine.

Whenever I attempt to dump back down to my PDW-1500 deck I get the message "The file was no transferred successfully to the XDCAM device. There are many reasons for this to happen... etc."

I looked all through the help of the program and have found nothing that helps. I have scoured this website and the forum and also come up empty.

We have Vegas 6.0d and we are definitely considering upgrading to 7, but if I can't get it to export back via FAM, then importing via FAM is useless.

Any help you can provide would be great. Perhaps some troubleshooting tips to remedy the situation that were omitted from the software help system or the manual. The many things could cause this statement from the error box is no help at all if there aren't a list of things to check for.

Thanks,
Chris

I'm not an XDCAM user but the 7.0b upgrade did have several fixes for XDCAM bugs. Download the newest version and try again.

Yes, first of all upgrade to the latest version of Vegas.

Also, make sure that the type of MXF you are rendering out is exactly the same as the disc format.

Upgrade did it. The type of MXF was proper, that was my biggest snag. Everything was set right and it still would not export. Thanks for the help.
