XDCAM HD Vegas 7.0e

Scratching my head on this one.!

I've recorded an owl hunting and have a clip around 30 minutes long. Using the XDCAM Explorer in Vegas, I've grabbed the low res proxy files and happily worked with them. Now then length is 5 minutes.
Now, when I click on "Conform To Current Project", Vegas gets the WHOLE 30 min HiRes file from the camera, even with the "Trim clips to used regions when possible" option is selected.
Am I missing something or does this option just not work?

No you haven't missed anything. Unfortunately Vegas 7 can only trim clips when importing clips via Ethernet mode (only available on the standard def cameras with an option card and the decks and the F70 deck with an optional card.)

Thats why I've often used PDZ-1 to do my clip organizing and transfer before editing in Vegas 7.

Ahh. Trouble is, I still haven't worked out how to trim the clips down before Vegas using PDZ-1 (although I am working on it!).
Thanks for the info, no wonder the guy from Sony who demonstrated the camera used FInal Cut Pro!!
