I use XP-Pro's remote desktop to access my machine from offsite. Everything works fine until I start a render operation. The render works until I disconnect from the session (to let it render for the hour or so). At that point, the machine (the host machine running V-V) freezes completely (mouse and everything). This is very repeatable. (V-V 4.0)
I've tried the Remote Desktop option of leaving the sound on the host machine, etc. No change.
I used to use Pinnacle Studio, and it had no problem rendering via Remote Desktop. So I don't think it is in the Windows rendering engine. Also, it locks up on WMV or AVI (haven't tried other formats).
Is this a known problem/limitation? Any workarounds (other than "don't use remote desktop to render..."?
Thanks.
J.
