Howdy Folks,
I found a few threads on this, but I don't know that I came across a definitive answer. A friend sent me a video he shot on a pretty cheap video camcorder. It is, unfortunately, encoded with xvid. As I understand it Vegas Movie Studio 8 (which is what I have) does not like to party with xvid. I can import the audio, but not the video. I have tried changing the fourCC code to DivX with no effect. I also installed the latest xvid codec without success. Windows Movie Maker will import the video without a problem. I can export the video as wmv, but I am going from lossy to lossy without even editing anything yet.
Does anyone have a better solution? Thanks in advance.
