CDA requires explicit support from Sonic Foundry to automatically detect your drive. Since CDA is an "obsolete" product there will be no more updates to the list of supported drives. It may be possible for you to manually set up your drive - many have successfully done this but there is no guarantee. You can search the forum for the procedure; there are also instructions in the knowledge base; or you can contact tech support and they can help you.

Vegas Video 3 and its soon-to-be-released sibling Vegas Audio 3 now have the functionality of CDA built into them. These programs are more likely to provide you with ongoing hardware support in the future.

See my post http://www.sonicfoundry.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?MessageID=87890 which was immediately above this one.

In short, I am using a Plextor 24/10/40 version 1.02 with Windows 2000 Professional and my Plextor is working with both CD Architect 4.0g and Vegas Video 3.0.

Check out the above mentioned post to get more details on an anomaly when using my Plextor with CDA.

I'm not sure if the Plextor will read and write at its normal (maximum) speeds because I just installed CDA and VV3.0 installed on a new computer system and I'm still testing.

I also want to ensure that BURN PROOF works on the Plextor with CDA/VV3.

Nero 5.5 works great with my Plextor. I especially like the progress and buffer status bars that Nero uses.
