Yet Another Problem I'm Having With Vegas Pro 8

Here I go, again... All for editing HDV that was important to me (the scene splitting function still didn't work well, but HDVSplit took care of that) seemed well with Sony Vegas Pro 8 with the new (beta) .dll installed (no more red/black frames or crashes), but I just tried saving five .m2t files as a single file (from one drive to another, for export to tape, no recompression needed anywhere) using two combinations of drives - and four times I got a Windows "vegas80.exe fault, program must close" message at 55% completion (at 19 1/4 minutes) of the save of the 35 minute export file. This nonsense kinda makes me just want to throw the whole works in the lake. (I guess I will need to reinstall Ulead VideoStudio to complete this project - and this plus earlier problems with Vegas is getting quite ridiculous!)

The new reader was still pretty problematic. AVCHD would play as though it was corrupted (Canon files anyway) - my understanding is it's being revamped and you'll see a much improved Vegas build soon.

Reinstall sans the new patch and you may be in better shape.

Thanks, but the new .dll solved the insufferable problems I had been having with Pro 8 and HDV. There is no way I would go back to using the old file (although I keep it preserved as "xxx.dll.old" in the location for the new one). I had thought my grief was past with Vegas, but I guess not. I'm about to install Ulead VideoStudio 11.5+ for carrying out this simple task of outputting 5 .m2t files to HDV tape. We can only hope that Sony finally gets Vegas "Pro" right...
