I ordered some stock footage from a company and got four volumes -- 75% of which was taken from the stock clips I already have from my Video Factory and VV3 Content CDs. When I inquired as to whether or not they had rights to resell someone else's footage in its original form, they came back with "video clips are not long enough to be copyrighted." Can you believe that? This same company offers a 5,000+ loops & music beds collection on 8 CDs. Any bets on where those came from????

You aren't referring to LiveStockfilm, Inc or Videometry are you?
I believe they have an agreement with Sonic Foundry.

No, these are the LiveStock and Videometry clips on the VV and VF content CDs.

SoFo contacted me, and I gave them the information.

The company is Artistic Noise Publishing. It's a four-pack they have on eBay.

I've had 100% success with other stock footage on Bay (usually on miniDV). Some good FX stuff, etc. I usually check out their websites first, to determine if they're legitimate. These guys had an eBay store, so I figured they were okay (unlike some others, who just happen to have multiple copies of the same Videometry library on eBay...)
