You Tube / Vegas 8

I've been fighting with Vegas for some time now...my videos look like garbage when I upload them to youtube. Ideally, I want them widescreen and with the option to view in high quality. I'm using Vegas 8, my project properties are in widescreen.

Can anyone give me a default template for making quality looking youtube videos? I have no idea why; my video is widescreen on a tv, but when I put it on youtube it has a black frame around the entire video. Can I not do this with Movie Studio 8?

There is an article on VASST on this very subject.

If you do not have an account with them, it is free. They are a trustworthy site, and have a close relationship with Sony Vegas.

For YouTube in VMS8 Platinum, I choose the wmv template with 720p. It works like a charm. To watch it in high quality, it takes much more bandwith (and time) to download the video.
By the way, I film in SD but render and upload in HD for better quality. Here is an example. You cancompare SD and HD.
