I was under the impression that the highest HD resolution for youtube is [720p] [1280x720].

I've been using the following template when converting 1440x1080i footage.

MainConcept AVC/AAC [*.mp4]
Video rendering quality: Best
Frame Size: 1280x720
Profile: Main
Frame Rate: 29.970 [NTSC]
Field Order: Progressive Scan
Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.0000
Variable Bit Rate Settings:
Maximum [bps]: 6,000,000
Average [bps]: 4,500,000

Audio Encoding Settings:
Sample Rate [Hz]: 22,000
Bit Rate [bps]: 40,000

These are the numbers I can remember off the top of my head there are some other tweaks but I'm not in front of my PC at the moment. These may not be the optimal settings for real clarity on youtube but for me they seem to keep the file size fairly small. That's what I need because my DSL upload speeds are horrorible where I live.
