Youtube shorts thumbnail from the desktop.

I just found Youtube doesn't allow uploading thumbnail for shorts from desktop. So, I asked to ChatGPT and it said that you can do it using Opening Frame and it gave me an instruction. But it doesn't make sense to me.
The instruction sounds like just how to make thumbnail in Vegas Pro. So, I’m wondering if it’s possible to show my custom thumbnail for Youtube shorts with Vegas.

Is it possible? If yes, could you give me a guide, please? I'm using Vegas Pro 18.

Seems there's no way for that. It is automatically selected by YouTube if I checked mine.

If 1st frame can be detected, perhaps insert the still frame on the first frame (or first 5 frames) ?

So sad. Hope Youtube change it asap.

@set @nothing Hi, I've tried this adding frames/images at the start/middle/end with many renders for YT shorts & Windows thumbnails, there doesn't seem to be a solution, my 7 YT Shorts have a thumbnail from near the middle of the clip, & Windows thumbnails re roughly 5secs in but that varies quite a bit 🤷‍♂️

Interestingly this 10sec AVI created by MagicYUV isn't recognised by YT as a Short, it loads like a normal vid & doesn't have the red S on the dashboard thumbnail even though #Shorts is tagged in the title 🤷‍♂️

Nice try! I think we should wait until Youtube put it back :(
