YUV 60i and Boris

I remember Mr Spot mentioning that he's getting great keys from HDV by converting the m2t files to YUV. I tried that and am still getting only average keys. Work (I work for a cable company) won't let me purchase Ultra 2 - yet, so I'm using Boris Red and/or Vegas w/ Secondary Color Corrector (boosting greens), Chroma Blur and Chroma Keyer.
So far, the Vegas route has resulted in average keys. And I can't get Boris to recognize the YUV clip. Has anyone gotten Boris Red to see a clip that has been rendered using that codec? Any suggestions?

Do you get Studio Magazine? If so, you'll see a short tutorial on this. It'll be on the VASST site after the mag ships.

No... Embarrassingly enough, I've never heard of Studio Magazine. But I know the VASST site pretty well.
I'll look for it there in a bit.
As I mentioned, I have a pretty decent key now. But as I've mentioned before, I come from BetaSP background. My keys there using Boris can get as detailed to where I can see strands of hair on a good day.
My key in Vegas (using the technique mentioned above) gives me a fair key with the mask choked pretty heavily. I also managed to get a lot of spill on them, even though I had them 20+ feet from the backdrop and had amber backlights. I'm exploring what I may have done wrong now.
Has ANYBODY got YUV to work in Boris Red?
Thanks much!
