mp3 files are so heavily compressed to begin with that, as you've
already noted, you gain almost nothing by "zipping" them ... probably
less than 1% reduction. You could also change the bitrate to
something lower to make them smaller, but that would seriously
degrade the quality. Other than that, I don't think there is much
else you can do.
