  As per @Gid 's comments, HEVC (H.265) media performs poorly in Vegas Pro versions prior to 21.300 (though I had to roll back to 21.208 for another reason). HEVC works much better in Vegas Pro 22. @Evgeny ... you could always install the trial

  Sorry, false alarm. All videos from GoPro & Samsung Ultra are imported without problems. The mistake was on me. Problem was in my e-mail address on registrated software. All is good, now.
