This quick video shows how easy it is to compile a .png sequence in Vegas Pro and add a visual effect over the top of a video or still image. I don't think you will find a video editing program that works with image sequences as quickly and efficiently as Vegas Pro does. You can use 3D programs to create customized special effects, then quickly composite and render them with Vegas.
