.MOV alpha channel still black after setting to "premultiplied"

Hey there!

I recently bought an effects package off humblebundle which included many nice effects all in a .mov format I want to use in my videos.

There's just one problem with that. After importing the .mov files and setting the alpha channel to "premultiplied" in the media's properties, the black background of those "transparent" videos isn't being removed and I still can see the black background in the preview. I already checked with mediainfo if those files had an alphachannel in the first place. And they do. It's not RGBA, but YUVA (according to mediainfo) which technically should still work, since other video editing software is removing the background right away when importing.

If it makes any difference to that problem: I am using Vegas Pro 15 (Build 416)

Am I missing something? Or is this method of making a transparent video actually transparent in your project outdated? Or is there any Preference setting I have to do in order to make this work?

EDIT: I tried out the trial of Vegas Pro 18 and it worked right away! But I don't have the money to upgrade....

Thanks in advance! I look forward to any answer!

Have you set the video preview window to Best / Full?

Saw this as a solutions somewhere else and tried it out, but it didn't work for me.

I also tried reinstalling the program completely and even delete the registry entry and stuff like that.

Several config resets and so on. But still, same issue...

Also, whenever I try to change the alpha channel to premultiplied, normally the preview of the video track in the timeline should show the checkered transparency background for the video, but not even that is happening...

Did you try that too?

Yes, that's what I meant with "config resets" 😅

Then I'm at the end of my game.
Maybe someone else has an idea.
