RE: VEGAS Pro 23 build 278 General Discussion
RogerS, thank you, I'll get back to you, briefly my workflow is shoot multicam with Panasonic 990-series cameras, prep files - colour correction and if need be zoom in, sometimes I downrender to 1080p from 4k and imagemix to archive file for final

RE: A Candid Story from a User Who Wants to Keep Using VEGAS Pro 23
Due to not being able to use multicamera editing in Vegas, I started looking at other programs. I looked at Corel's Pinnacle video studio, but it really stunk. I also looked at Kdenlive which was pretty impressive, but I'm too used to Vegas to

@PeterH really nice! Questions coming.... 1. What mics used on the drums? Oh, and his ending was great! 2. What did you use to mix everything? 3. What mixing equipment did you use? 4. Cameras? How long did it take you to edit things?

From the Help file: TIP Holding the Ctrl key while choosing a take will create a crossfade instead of a cut, with the alignment and duration determined by the Cut-to-overlap conversion settings from the Editing tab of the Preferences dialog. For

RE: Vegas 23 decoding bug
I’ll try switching my camera settings to 4:2:0 10-bit HEVC in the next few days and see if the problem persists. @Andreas-T I've been doing multicam using 4k hevc 4:2:0 10bit for years with Zcam & Canon cameras with great success. I too just

RE: Automatic fade transitions in Multicamera Edit
@Al_Korzonas It's the answer to the question Vegas asks if you select the multicam track and ask it to expand it back to the original camera tracks... I always do that so I can do particularized camera-track and event grading after choosing the

RE: Updating an SD MiniDV project to HD in Vegas Pro 23
I've been doing Vegas AI Upscales from HD to 4K but only for the individual hd/ptz I embed on-stage while using 4k cameras for everything else which I shoot from farther away. HD to 4K for a 2- to 3-hour concert takes many hours, even with a 5080

RE: Multicam Workflow Question
I don't follow what you're saying about pip. My issue isn't with the multicam cuts part. It's making edits after making the cuts. You can't ripple edit because it goes out of sync when you try to make edits after expanding back out to multiple

RE: Multicam Workflow Question
I've never been able to overcome this problem using the multicam editing feature in Vegas. I spent today trying to figure out another way to edit multi-camera video without all of the problems I cited in this post And I think I've got the solution.

RE: Vegas 23 - list of bugs which I found
Hmm.. It is hard to tell because projects where I have almost 6hours of total material are more smooth than projects where I have only 1h of total but I have almost 900 marks made to song beat for 20minute movie.Yesterday V23 on that project crashed

RE: Subject: Vegas Pro 23 - Persistent Thumbnail Cache Purging
@Keky Sounds like you do allot of run-and-gun which I don't. I devote a project to each day, venue, and edit-step. I only turn cameras off during intermissions, am able to get rid of all the frames I don't want selecting cameras in multicam edit,

RE: Vegas Pro on Laptop + External
The laptop would benefit from a dedicated GPU. With that it would generally work well. The laptop I use (see signature) does fine for the type of editing you describe (no proxies, normally on AC power, have an internal 2TB NVMe drive.) I leave it on

RE: VP23 is an embarrassment
@anthony-chiappette I can't use any version of vp23 for some things but it's been great for me editing, grading, and rendering multicam video projects on an 11900k with a 5080 using the same version driver you mentioned. Maybe you're issue is with

RE: A Candid Story from a User Who Wants to Keep Using VEGAS Pro 23
I've never used Filmora. But I do have Pinnacle (for me it worked great with multicam), Resolve Studio 20, and some other editing software that I have just for nostalgia. It has been quite a while since the release of VP23 and a real update patch.

What @3POINT said. My desktop and laptop were on Win11 23H2 which I've been updating the last few days. 1st to 24H2 and last night to 25H2. Took the opportunity to benchmark my laptop (12900H/3060) each step of the way with vp22 and 23. My Nvidia

I used vp21 b108 for quite a while because subsequent builds until the last of the vp22 builds had a serious problem opening hd422 clips from a Canon xf305 camera that had been working fine with Vegas for about a dozen years. vp21 b208 rendered

RE: Rendering V23 vs V22 GPU
I'm getting substantially faster renders from vp23 compared to vp22... but I'm using nothing but Vegas fx, cgp, and native rendering with either a 5080 or 4090 in an aging 11900k machine with the igpu disabled. Shooting mostly 2 to 3-hr 10bit 4k

RE: Scene detection in Vegas pro 21. How to mark clips to properly move
Thanks so much for trying, and the multicam idea was clever, but I think the (long) way I do it now is faster. Typically, for a one hour clip, scene detect cuts about 100 clips. Dragging them onto a single track in the timeline, and then creating a

RE: Upgrade Vegas Pro Suite 22 to Vegas Pro 23
I'm sticking with vp22 for audio editing into the foreseeable future. Mostly because I do substantial audio envelope editing where vp22 is dramatically faster and smoother compared to vp23. In fact, I've found every prior version of Vegas is
