Well, let's start with some music from the southern Mediterranean coast of Andalusia (Spain). Everything stays at home: my wife sings, I compose and, except for the bongos, I play the guitars on the recording. The lyrics, sung by rumba flamenca, tell of my childhood memories on the beach where it was recorded.
So, back during the original Covid lockdowns I was looking for something to help fill time at home, and decided to dabble in VFX. Having previously toyed with the Steam version of Vegas Movie Studio 13 (becasue it was cheap!), I plumped for the then current full Vegas version, and eventually switched to the Post version. This is one of my relatively early experiments. I only did this for fun, not in any way an pro in this, but thought I'd just share
Just some friendly advice: a LOT of your dialogue audio is 180 deg out of phase in the L/R. This means in stereo it sounds hollow with no center, and if the viewer is listening in mono it's almost silent. Seems a shame given how much effort you have put into the visuals. Would be an easy fix...

How do I fix this sound problem? I took a great deal of care of recording good sound. I am unaware of being 180 deg out of phase in the L/R -- I don't even know what that means? I did use a number of pitch filters. Any help you can give on this point would be very welcome to me -- maybe in a separate thread? How does someone listen in mono?
WARNING: This is why you don't let horse girls play with video editing software! 😂
I'm part of what has come to be known as the model horse hobby. Believe it or not, it is a diverse hobby that attracts everyone from kindergarteners to those of retirement age -- I did NOT make that last part up! Hobbyists sometimes debate whether models with a glossy or matte finish are better, so I recently uploaded a video regarding the pros and cons of horse figurines in each finish. This video isn't professional quality by any stretch, it was made purely for fun!
Also, @juan_rios, @MikeS, and @bryan-quarrie, great videos! @juan_rios, your wife sings beautifully, and Spain looks incredible! @MikeS, I am blown away by your editing skills! @bryan-quarrie, the orchestra was wonderful, and the intro and outro are awesome! I need to check out some of the other videos in this playlist when I get the chance.
Just a note about the intro / outro - It was designed by someone at Hackney Council so I can’t credit that to myself lol!!
It does look good I must admit. I think he used AfterEffects but I’m sure it could be reproduced in Vegas Effects. I did however chromakeyed the black in those clips, and added a dropshadow effect so that they seamlessly transition into the main clips on Vegas Pro 👍😀
Your video is very explanatory and well done, congratulations. And my wife and I are very grateful for your kind words... and yes, the landscape of Spain is very varied and beautiful, from the Celtic north to the Mediterranean south. It's like a mix of all of Europe.
