multicam preview dark screen
When previewing a multicam edit, the preview image is normal with multiple tracks, but when shifted to the single image edited track it goes dark. I have Vegas Pro 22 Build 250. ChatGPT says that version still has a multicam preview brightness bug —

RE: Feature requests: retain fx entering Multicam Edit & many event fx
@Al_Korzonas is it not usual to edit/trim first in a multicam project and after that when switching back to the final timeline adding fx/color corrections etc? Adding fx/color corrections before, could hamper a fluent preview while editing/trimming

RE: Feature requests: retain fx entering Multicam Edit & many event fx
👍2nd the motion. At least for Media-fx & VideoBus-fx which currently get bypassed during multicam edit even if I apply them after making the multicam track. Makes shooting multicam with log media very difficult without the trouble of rendering

RE: multicam preview dark screen
@Ernie Did you use fx on the clips to lighten them before making the multicam track? If so, fx get stripped off upon creation of the multicam track and the clips will get darker.

RE: Feature requests: retain fx entering Multicam Edit & many event fx
A lot of things in multicam editing don't make sense. An overhaul is long due. I posted this 5 years ago... https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/a-few-thoughts-about-vegas-multicam-editing--125582/

Feature requests: retain fx entering Multicam Edit & many event fx
When you go into Multicam Edit, all event fx are removed. Why? Why not leave them? I went through each event for each camera, color corrected, adjusted brightness and contrast, and added a little sharpness on one camera, then all that work

RE: Is there easy way to cut overlapping clips from different tracks
@MarkAnthony121 Looks like you shot with multiple cameras and split the left-side manually and then deleted the angles you didn't want. If you use multicam edit mode to create a multicam track to do the splits, it'll give you the option to delete

My fav from my latest concert project... audio mix done with vp22. Then 4-camera multicam all with vp23 which went so smoothly & quickly, I felt obliged to give it a credit...

RogerS, thank you, I'll get back to you, briefly my workflow is shoot multicam with Panasonic 990-series cameras, prep files - colour correction and if need be zoom in, sometimes I downrender to 1080p from 4k and imagemix to archive file for final

RE: File I/O -> Experimental HEVC decoding: Has severe problem with a clip
What @RogerS said. I would only use Experimental Hevc on footage from a camera that doesn't work with the vp22 default decoder. Which is impractical in multicam combined with footage that works better with the default. I would just transcode the

@PeterH really nice! Questions coming.... 1. What mics used on the drums? Oh, and his ending was great! 2. What did you use to mix everything? 3. What mixing equipment did you use? 4. Cameras? How long did it take you to edit things?

RE: Mixed GPU systems
Fwiw, I got the absolute best, smooth, and creamy display performance doing 4k 4:2:0 hevc multicam cuts plugged into an Intel a770 set to both video and i/o decoder. And audio mixing was fine too. But not so much with video FX in the picture. At the

RE: Vegas Crashes
This is very strange; I wonder what the cause could be.Most of my video files are stored on external USB HD drives though I do use VEGAS and Windows on an internal SSD. If a project needs more performance (multicam) I'll move files to a working SSD.

RE: Vegas 23 decoding bug
I’ll try switching my camera settings to 4:2:0 10-bit HEVC in the next few days and see if the problem persists. @Andreas-T I've been doing multicam using 4k hevc 4:2:0 10bit for years with Zcam & Canon cameras with great success. I too just

RE: Automatic fade transitions in Multicamera Edit
@Al_Korzonas It's the answer to the question Vegas asks if you select the multicam track and ask it to expand it back to the original camera tracks... I always do that so I can do particularized camera-track and event grading after choosing the

RE: Do I need to prepare my source files for use in VegasPro?
@alifftudm95 What do you mean, all current GPUs can decode h265 (HEVC) in hardware. VEGAS is also handling these files much better than in the past. Transcoding to ProRes is a fine thing to do though, so not disagreeing with that especially if you

@anthony-chiappette I can't use any version of vp23 for some things but it's been great for me editing, grading, and rendering multicam video projects on an 11900k with a 5080 using the same version driver you mentioned. Maybe you're issue is with
