RE: Import FFV1
@aaronstanley75 If you don't want to throw away any of your FFV1 archival detail, you would need to convert to another lossless format Vegas can read. Lossless hevc works but is very processor intensive. There's also a 3rd party lossless codec with

RE: Help needed...New to Voukoder 13.4.1
The Vimeo bitrate is about 6Mbit/s and at 1080P60 H.264 the video is too complex for the compression, it would look far worse on YouTube. Based on even an AV1 version I made looking not great either I conclude it may not be possible to make this

RE: VRAM Bottleneck in Vegas Pro 22 – Considering GPU Upgrade to RX 7900 X
So AMD excellent at both HEVC and AV1 and it really does seem like CPU encodes for high resolution H.265/AV1 just doesn't make sense any more unless encoding for efficiency and smallest file possible at highest quality. @Howard-Vigorita I worked out

Format : AVCFormat/Info : Advanced Video Codec means h.264. I don't really want to troubleshoot random downloader software. The software is a moving target and so is the source material

RE: Question: 8 vs 10-bit HEVC Renders?
VEGAS AV1 would be fine in regards to encode quality except for frequent glitched frames in my testing (which doesn't show up in render metrics). There are also decoding issues with AV1 though only when the CPU decoder is used. Hopefully development

RE: Vegas using a single core for rendering?
@Gid I messed up, I encoded AV1 to project resolution 60fps, I didn't see the single core activity so I modified the project and then used hardware encoding. I tried just then with modified project encoding to AV1 1080P 60 but still getting 100% CPU

RE: Question: 8 vs 10-bit HEVC Renders?
I can tell you anecdotally my own testing says stay away from HEVC and AV1 for SD renders of old DV source. The codecs are optimized for high resolution captures and end up discarding lots of data in SD because the algo mistakes it as noise. Believe

RE: VP22 support Nvidia NVENC with AV1 ?
Here is my comparison of V22 rendering a H264 4K 5.3min project with fades and music: MagicAV1, 4K template ave bit rate 40Mb/s, max 75MB/s. Rendered = size 1.5GB, time=6.31s, speed= 21fps, overall bitrate=40Mb/s Voukoder AV1 NVENC Variable bit rate

RE: VRAM Bottleneck in Vegas Pro 22 – Considering GPU Upgrade to RX 7900 X
I measure dramatically lower quality transcoding to hevc with Resolve, no matter what encoder I use including the Voukoder plugin. And the best transcode quality from ffmpeg x265, with Vegas MainConcept Hevc not far behind. With vp22, which is

RE: VEGAS PRO 22 HAVE THE WORST AV1 DECODING: CHROMA SUBSAMPLING 4:1:0
Can you look at media properties while holding shift and see what decoder is being used? If it's still using a hardware decoder the test isn't meaningful. You might have to disable the GPU in device manager or test on a system incapable of AV1

RE: Audio is indiscriminately 15 frames off from HD video after importing
The default MagixAVC settings are fine for YouTube. If you see compression artifacts with the rendered file, increase the bitrate. Personally I avoid QSV encoding with AVC and AV1 in VEGAS for quality reasons. If you really want those do them

RE: VP22 support Nvidia NVENC with AV1 ?
I can also add that I've tested Voukoder with a 4090 and it renders av1_nvenc fine. Worked the same with vp19-22 which I have installed on the same machine. Should work just as well with vp18.

RE: VRAM Bottleneck in Vegas Pro 22 – Considering GPU Upgrade to RX 7900 X
@johnny-s I think it's the faster setting, which has no place in an NLE as a default encoding setting except maybe 8K. Resolve has such a bad name as far as H.264 encodes, now they want same award for HEVC and AV1

RE: AV1 render fails w/ "The reason for the error could not be determined"
ACES support seems to be having issues during the rebuild of the video engine (strange interactions with the color grading panel, the default space not working right for me, etc.) Odd that it's only failing with AV1 though (and that doesn't even use

RE: My Journey To AV1
P.S. Sure AV1 is more modern, with more features and so provides better quality. I'm not arguing that. To me it's not better quality, but just same quality at lower bitrates/smaller filesizes. It's all about keeping the quality of the original

RE: VRAM Bottleneck in Vegas Pro 22 – Considering GPU Upgrade to RX 7900 X
@Howard-Vigorita Did you find the same high quality for NVENC HEVC? I did notice AV1 uses more NVENC processing and thus lower speed compared to HEVC, but this is a good thing if quality is even higher. From what I've been able to deduce from task
