RE: Rendering V23 vs V22 GPU
I'm getting substantially faster renders from vp23 compared to vp22... but I'm using nothing but Vegas fx, cgp, and native rendering with either a 5080 or 4090 in an aging 11900k machine with the igpu disabled. Shooting mostly 2 to 3-hr 10bit 4k

RE: Multi camera editing question
My only recourse to change the interval between take switch is to either CTRL+Z all the way back to the start and start over, or in the case where the project was saved and on reopening it I need to change the interval. I cannot find a way to

RE: Scene detection in Vegas pro 21. How to mark clips to properly move
@Jimbo Your clip/s are already on the timeline, what i suggested was just to select the ones on the timeline using the Project Media window. The clips on the timeline will highlight (click G on the keyboard if you want to group them) then drag them

RE: Scene detection in Vegas pro 21. How to mark clips to properly move
Thanks so much for trying, and the multicam idea was clever, but I think the (long) way I do it now is faster. Typically, for a one hour clip, scene detect cuts about 100 clips. Dragging them onto a single track in the timeline, and then creating a

RE: Upgrade Vegas Pro Suite 22 to Vegas Pro 23
I'm sticking with vp22 for audio editing into the foreseeable future. Mostly because I do substantial audio envelope editing where vp22 is dramatically faster and smoother compared to vp23. In fact, I've found every prior version of Vegas is

RE: .MTS file de-sync upon import (VP23 - 302)
Thanks @john_dennis. Appreciated, and so strange that it was only this specific XDCAM format that was successful. But I tend to agree with @3POINT that I shouldn't have to re-encode. Vegas has always been so good at whatever your throw at it and I

RE: Need opinions, VP 22 vs 23
Envelope editing is still more laborious and clunky for me with vp23 than vp22. But b356 improved it enough over b302 that I was able to do my last envelope-intensive audio-only concert project with it. There's a new bug in b356 envelope editing

RE: Anyone notice images rotated w/small push using PIP get "soft"?
Pan/crop is the obvious tool to give a rotation and adding some zooming (to avoid resulting black borders, BUT With the Vegas stereoscopic 3D fx you can also rotate the image, but you don't need to add a zoom to avoid the resulting black borders,

RE: Multicam sometimes cuts at non-current position (bug?)
Nice to hear other workflows. It definitely works when I do it that way. However, I'm looking for a faster real-time edit most of the time (to the extent that sometimes I'll run the speed at 2x to get through it easier, for simple jobs). Since it

RE: Project settings for 10 bit video footage
What RogerS said. Start my new multicam projects 8bit-full and do not switch to 32bit-full until the final render for delivery. Generally have to turn off the view transform and make sure the compositing gamma stays at 2.222. I personally like

RE: [Closed] vegas 23 - you can't work normally
I have K-Lite installed on a couple of my computers and it's never been a problem. I use those computers when I need codecs not available on my main work-horses.Thumbnails have always been an issue for me with Vegas because I end up getting hundreds

RE: Scene detection in Vegas pro 21. How to mark clips to properly move
@Jimbo Try out Scene Detection, there's a few more controls in there. You can choose the Events or Regions (if you add regions from Scene detection) in 'Edit Details' & select the ones you want, but as you have one clip cut into parts they'll

RE: Vegas Pro version 22.
I found that if you have these two boxes checked and leave the screen (minimise to desktop/go to browser), on going back Vegas takes time to rebuild the timeline if Vegas takes too long you may get windows giving a not responding message. In any

Go Pro audio gaps between clips
Since upgrading to Vegas Pro 23, I’ve started experiencing a small but noticeable audio dropout at the point where GoPro clips join. I run a 3‑camera setup around my aircraft and edit everything using Vegas multicam. I’m aware that GoPro’s encoding

Update to 4K RedCar HEVC benchmark
I did an update to the media substitution used in the RedCar 4K HEVC benchmark which pretty closely models my multicam HEVC workflow. It demonstrates how dramatic the performance penalty can be splitting and overlapping media clips in Vegas and/or

A truly incredible review by Rob Svm on the FB Vegas Editors group.
I will always stay with Vegas. I was editing a weekly TV show with it for 5 years and was doing it in 4k when the other producers only rendered in 2k. I bought every Vegas pro version (since v6) because it is the most logical workflow that stacks up

RE: Post Your VEGAS Creations - 2
@PeterH really nice! Questions coming.... 1. What mics used on the drums? Oh, and his ending was great! 2. What did you use to mix everything? 3. What mixing equipment did you use? 4. Cameras? How long did it take you to edit things?

RE: Give Me A Few Reasons Why Vegas Pro Is A Good Software
1) It is intuitive - you just drag and drop everything in one window - no need to walk through extra modules like in Resolve 2) It is fastest editing - no other software give you opportunity to edit 2 hours multicam podcast with full of underlying
