RE: [Closed] Why Buy Vegas if Resolve is Free?
This not an appropriate place to ask Resolve technical help. You should join Resolve Forum at the Blackmagic Design site and ask for help. It works perfect. Please ask specific help question at their forum. I was not asking for help, I was making a

RE: [Closed] Why Buy Vegas if Resolve is Free?
I've been using Vegas since version 3 but these days I use Resolve 95% of the time. When it comes to color correction there is really no comparison if you start to dig deep. There are so many features in Resolve that I'm still learning but the CC

RE: [Closed] Why Buy Vegas if Resolve is Free?
It has been said before, but Blackmagic is predominantly a hardware company and therefore does not need to rely on Resolve as a significant income earner. I suppose it might be considered to be a loss-leader for the company - it builds goodwill

RE: [Closed] Why Buy Vegas if Resolve is Free?
Black Magic is being disruptive to the market … I don't know how it is a sustainable model in any way. It has been said before, but Blackmagic is predominantly a hardware company and therefore does not need to rely on Resolve as a significant income

RE: [Closed] Why Buy Vegas if Resolve is Free?
It is two years down the line and we are on Vegas 16 and Resolve 15 - both products have come a fair way. A Vegas 15 user is presented with an upgrade price (form time to time) of $199 while Resolve Studio 15 is $299. I would be curious to know the

Main Desktops. Only ASIO drivers are associated with a Blackmagic IP 4K. Have now tried that option and all appears OK. As I had not specified The BM card as a 'Preview Device' I would not expect its Sound to be associated with VP. Laptop: No

RE: MSP15(157) - ProResHQ422 DCP Rendering
thanks for the suggestion. i'm assuming you mean the Video for Windows option in MSP15? I found an HD 1080 24p YUV, and digging into the customize template an "uncompressed" at the bottom of a long list of codecs. once again there's no information

Additionally, I think it would be good if MAGIX would publish some cheap eBooks similar to this and this, because a lot of VEGAS Pro functionality is not very well documented (Timeline Compositing Features, for example, have very few decent

RE: Why Vegas is losing me and others
With BlackMagic practically giving the farm away, people can now demand so much more for software we pay for. It is utterly mind-boggling what Resolve does for free.

RE: Has anyone used the Apollo switcher/recorder by Convergent Design?
Nick, I checked with the sales rep and he said that I do have the latest firmware. All cameras have to have the same output setting. I am using 3 Panasonic FZ2500's so I set them to AVCHD 1920x1080 30p. They are each connected to a Blackmagic HDMI

That said, I see you added BM mini-monitor support and it isn't even in 16 yet... PLZ add it soon! Update 2 of VP 16 should have this support in it. For some reason it was missed in the release notes. It only shows one decklink device in my

RE: Project properties menu items greyed out
Thanks for your time on this Musicvid! I went into resolve and rendered out 3 versions all using data at video levels in Resolve. YUV10bit, YUV8bit, and RGB10bit. When I place the two YUV's on a Vegas timeline the resulting display output looks as

Blackmagic Duplicator appears to be a serious device. Did you receive the file on an SD card? Is it still on the SD card?

RE: Can't add video to vegas - file corrupted
Thanks, Nick! I have since tried a re-wrap and that did, indeed, work. The reason I was trying to copy it to an MP4 file was in the hope Vegas would play it faster. But then I watched some YouTube tutorials and found out I could trim off the

So far the results have turned out better without the 1k nits option enabled, but I do see your point. Stewart, also make sure you have a display adapter that Vegas can use to display 10 bit video. Your run of the mill GeForce or Radeon cards cannot

RE: Difference between preview and rendered image.
There must be an entire encyclopedia worth of confused (and confusing) posts about this issue (non-issue really) that you can look up, but it is "simply" this: The Vegas preview SHOULD look less contrasty than your final render when played back on

RE: Video Pro X10
Will stick with VP & move from VP14 to VP16. Edit for £109 is not unreasonable & will accept GH5S 4K media. Thanks for prompt advice. Geoff VP16 installed easily and picked up a VP14 project (now saved as '16'). Blackmagic 4K card
