RE: GOPRO VIDEO FORMATS
The forum search box will be your best resource, and expect plenty of results. 1080p gopro may not need proxies on your machine, but 5k will need them on most. GoPro is an acquisition format, without any thought for ease of editing.

RE: GoPro timecode/timestamp access?
BTW, have you read this:https://community.gopro.com/s/article/HERO12-Black-Timecode-Sync?language=en_US The sync precision should be < 50 ms which is about 3 frames @60 fps, For higher precision you could also feed an external timecode into all

RE: GOPRO VIDEO FORMATS
GoPro 12 has a mode that stabilizes and keeps the horizon level; 4K is great for that mode. With GoPro HEVC, my I7-8700K keeps up with decoding using the on-die UHD630 (using V21). 4K transitions and effects will be a different story of course.

RE: Vegas 21 (315) Lag when handling clips (Trimming and Moving)
@joshua-noesser Well, it is a GoPro, which are notorious for their excessive compression schemes. Plus, add the fact that you are also recording at 5.3K, 60p (59.940), this just increases the problem. I have used GoPro's since the Hero 3 Black

RE: Rendering takes so long 5,3k 60fps 10bit Nvenc
... it may just be that this GoPro footage is hard to decode so try to choose different settings in your camera that are easier to edit or be patient with your renders. Agreed. The GoPro settings are at its maximums: 5,3k 60fps and 10bit ... but

RE: What can I do to speed up 4K render?
@j-v I can get average frame rates approaching yours if I render just the raw HEVC Gopro files at "good" quality, as you did above, without any edits or FX. After I set render quality to "best", add music, add multiple clips, remove the GoPro audio

@Jeffrey-Stachowiak Please see the post above by Robert- does that help at all? No I don't use PIP and do not have NewBlue effects installed. I'll post media when I get a chance. Using GoPro 4k video from GoPro 12. Rendering to 1080p. It glitches

RE: Who was able to set up CineForm in vegas 21?
The decoding of Cineform has been implemented years ago in Vegas. To allow 10bit editing. Since Cineform was sold - also years ago - to GoPro, you have to install the Cineform codec in your system. That happened by installing GoPro Studio. The

RE: [Solved] Video preview freeze when I play video from go pro 12 (4k 60fps)
@Mateusz-Przybylski 4K 60fps GoPro may never edit smoothly in Vegas, no matter what machine you have. It simply clogs up the works with its highly compressed and complex structure, which takes up dozens of Megabytes of your System Memory for storing

RE: Building Proxy in Vegas 22
@mhammann57 Hi. Like @Gid, I too have one (two) all AMD systems (see signature), and use GoPro's from version 5 Black through 13 Black (except for the Hero 8 due to non-removable lens). When I had the Hero 3 Black Plus, the old GoPro Studio worked

RE: Building Proxy in Vegas 22
@mhammann57 Good, glad you sorted it out, I doubt your card can't handle the 4k files, GoPro's only have that card as memory so if it couldn't handle 4k it wouldn't record correctly, but as you've found the files are ok when transferred using the

Chief24 - Thank you. I did try converting the video to ProRes LT using Shutter Encoder however, I still had the same stuttering/pixelation when playing the video. I am wondering why others with a similar Intel platform seem to be having more success

RE: Experimental HEVC and GoPro 11 footage = Higher Memory Utilization
Creating a proxy or DI for GoPro is a pretty standard recommendation. Unfortunately, formats designed for acquisition don't lend themselves very well to editing or delivery.

GOPRO VIDEO FORMATS
I am looking to buy a Go Pro video camera. I see it does 5K format and I also see 1080P. I am using Vegas Pro 18. I don't believe I can edit 5k with that version. I suspect I can choose the 1080P resolution but they (Amazon and reviews) don't

RE: Different frame rates in one given project
Not sure if OP wants to try Resolve, so. Since the OP is using VMS 17, and transcoding to ProRes is a No-Go, the best I found to use for transcoding that worked awesome, especially for different GoPro Cameras and/or their frame rates, is Grass
