RE: OT: Software for shooting script and screenplay
You're attempting to create a format that doesn't exist. You have, basically, three options: 1. Continunity script (screenplay, can include camera angles). 2. AV script (as shown in Final Draft AV). 3. Storyboards (which "show" camera angles and

RE: DVCPRO 25 in Vegas
You should find that DVCPro25 is usable directly without any 3rd party codecs installed, whatever ingest/capture technique you use into your computer. (YMMV) For NTSC there is no difference to that of DV25 (with 2/0 audio channels configured) . It

RE: Rendering threads, page file size question
Solve this non-bug by using just one core? Nope. Again I state, I get the same pattern of crashes on my old P4 (a single-core chip), including when I set its bios for no hyperthreading. (Unfortunately, my P5B doesn't include a means to disable

RE: Windows XP Professional and my HDV camera
Any chance you could just play back all your tapes with the A1 which is working correctly? While you sort out the mystery of the other cams not being seen.. A while ago I had a similar experience when plugging in my cam to capture. I'd hear the

RE: Vegas 9?
"1) That "cheap" VMS product outsells Vegas 10:1." At around $100 Bob, I should certainly hope so! But there is a rather huge following on the AVS forum (and I use them just for example) that would die to upgrade if given the money. "Youtube etc as

Access Violation (8.1)
Occassionally I get AV messages. I get the bugs happen, but I wonder two things: 1) Since Vegas is going to crash anyway, why doesn't it just let Windows Error Reporting catch the error, that way at least there's a dump someone could check. 2)

RE: OT: buying a projector... opinions?
The EX70 or it's clone the Home Cinema 700 wouldn't be a bad choice for the money. Here is a short discussion about it. The Sharp XR-32X would be a good choice despite it being Native 4:3. Sufficiently bright enough with decent video contrast

RE: Way, Way OT - Need Virus Help in Carmel CA
Unfortunately, Windows restore does not always do the job here, these fake AV trojans are designed to circumvent the process, and reinstall themselves on the reboot. 1) Spybot Search and Destroy takes care of these in many cases, it is free, and

RE: O.T. Need a new laptop
Thanks TOMSDE: My son is working only with SD, and even though he has all of these FX packages he uses them sparingly because he understands the beauty of a well executed quick cut or cross fade. What's the minimum CPU you or anyone else on the

Nick I found these standalone converters that will convert your files. 1 MPEG Stream Clip which has both Mac and Windows versions and seems to be what most FCP users are using to convert and import .m2t files. It even has a watermark feature. I

I've found that most of the other background processes don't make all that much of a difference. AV software and distributed computing applications (and viruses) do make a significant difference. Everything else only makes a 1% difference.I agree

The A1 is best captured through firewire, preferably a firewire card directly off your machine as opposed to something like AVS which is dv passed through usb. Some have had problems with Vegas capture utility and I am one of them. I use HDVsplit
