RE: VEGAS Feature Wishlist - August 2024
My first suggestion: Integrated Masking Think how masking works in VEGAS Effects or After Effects. You don't add an effect or open the pan/crop window. You just click on either a shape mask and draw it out directly on the preview monitor, or you

    BUGS Vegas video stabilisation FX
A  few bugs I found just in the last day or two of using this FX! 1- when a preset is saved with say the following sliders Number of grids in x:, number of grids in y:, number of points per grid cell: set to 14 then when the preset is recalled the

RE: [Closed] Smooth Start/Stop in Pan/Crop
@3POINT I searched for some ways to do curved path motion using Vegas and came across this. I think this idea is still very useful for the improvement direction of Vegas today. Fourteen years later, Vegas still lacks curvilinear path motion.I did

    RE: color correction
@Roger Bansemer You forgot to tell us what fx or at what level you are reducing the image on your top track. However, since you are applying the color cast at the Track Level, "whatever" you choose to reduce your image should also be applied at

RE: Can anyone explain me these 2 functions? I am unable to understand.
    1. Match Camera View A very good question. None of those R click options seem to be covered in the user manual. Equally, what does 'Restore View' do? Nothing as far as I can tell. Besides 'Match Camera View' and 'Restore View', all the other options

    RE: 720/1080p videos in a 4K project
1080p to 2160p is feasible in Vegas 20 and 21 using Upscale, or in Topaz Video AI. In general, Vegas Upscale has a little better static resolution, while Topaz has slightly better motion estimation, and Topaz can be a LOT slower. Conservatively,

    RE: VEGAS Pro Feature Requests
Every editor now has the AI reframe option, but not yet Vegas, if you add that to VP22 it will be a game changer. This is a demonstration that took all of 5minutes to create, running scene detect + reframing widescreen to portrait, and every key

RE: Vegas Pro Edit 365 AI Smart Mask 2.0 does not work
@Joseph-Pace Here's an example of what I meant in my first post. Notice the order of the Fx chain with crop coming after AI Smart Mask. I can't really test this very well as my laptop is just too slow to render smart mask frames. Track motion also

RE: How do I resize and position an image?
Pan Crop is far better than track motion for resizing despite its limitations, because it treats the image at its native resolution. Track motion treats at project resolution. I do all my zoom/pans on stills with Pan Crop, never track motion.

@jetdv I didn't know that the Across Tracks option worked with .psd, thanks for the guidance. I still think that @zzzzzz9125 script is a good option as it makes it easier to distribute these streams across the timeline and saves time. I can import

My laptop from 2017 can play back unedited 4K footage at best full. What's the difference? The type of media (I'm using 8-bit 4:2:0 UHD AVC). I'm editing in 8-bit full mode vs 32-bit due to the performance penalty (you can always set it back to

Thanks @jetdv I will go through the tutorials again and try and put this together. This is very kind of you. By the way, my long-winded description is overly complex. I don't need 4 keyframes, it is actually only 2. It is basically this: I will

Green flashes in Vegas 21 build 315
I was a bit reluctant to start a new project in build 315 given the new decoder issues (latest project was somewhere January with build 208), and sure enough, I get the dreaded green flashes. The build did not crash, but when I restarted Vegas with

Suggestion: Let 2.5D Parallax in Vegas easier and more user-friendly
Suggestion: Dig out the unique feature of Vegas & make it more user-friendly — 2.5D Parallax What is parallax effect? That is, when the camera moves, the distant layers seem to move more slowly than the nearby layers. Why is it called 2.5D?

RE: VEGAS Pro Edit 19 stops responding in the middle of editing
240fps is not a framerate suitable for video editing. Framerates for video editing are in the range of 24-60fps. Higher recorded framerates are used for creating fluent slow motions. For example 240fps can be used to create 4x or 8x times slomo when

RE: How to create faded titles backgrounds?
One way to do this is to add a black or other color media generator event to a track just under the title track and frame it via track motion (unchcking the maintain aspect ratio option) to where you want it under the title, and add some blur to

    3D camera tracking.
Hello, sorry for this question, maybe it's impolite, but I used After Effects a long time ago and remember that in him I easily have used built-in 3D camera tracker for 3D tracking, so I thought that in the Vegas Effects I will find the same, but

RE: how do you zoom in one of the videos in the scene? VP18
An easy way to do this is to place the video event on its own track and use Track Motion (the track header) to place/frame the image to where you want - then use the event's pan/crop to zoom in. Keep in mind that Track Motion affects the entire

RE: No Rolling Shutter, Sony A9-III?
@Reyfox I've done a few lately.   I don't have a big problem with rolling shutter... ... as much as motion blur caused by low frame rate for the action I sometimes try to catch.
