RE: no Vegas Pro 14 :(
I must say that I never had a reason to switch over to another NLE becasue Vegas was unable to do what another NLE could. Especially when appropriate plug ins are used. This includes fully producing from start to finish: - TV programs for TV

RE: Memory...how much
Yep. I too can remember editing DV on speed razor, with a dedicated hardware codec on a P2, w/512MB of ram, and 40GB 10rpm scsi drives. The 1st digital text message was also sent via morse code, but thankfully there we people around that chose to

WinKey+I > Updates - make sure to run all the updates here after upgrading, a couple reboots may be needed to get them all. Default windows driver will only support one screen. Win10 should detect your video card chipset and install a

RE: Help with building a new PC for Vegas
For folks who already have fast six core processors, net encoding speed gains from upgrading to top-shelf GPUs typically fall into the 0-10% range, which some folks consider a poor return on their investment. Although my evidence is anecdotal, those

RE: Dual monitor 4k + 2500x1400, which GPU???
I agree with HappyFriar. I sure wouldn't try to edit video with 2 gigs of RAM. That's barely enough to run Windows! You'll want at least 4 gigs of RAM. In fact, you may well find your whole system taxed pretty heavily editing video on dual

Using the CPU fully
I just installed my TMPGENC Mastering Works 6 upgrade. I frameserve from VPro 13 to TMW to create 35 Mbps MPEG2 BR files. With TMW5, my 5960X averaged 23% usage. Astonishingly, TMW6 is averaging 90%+ - CPU is cooking along at 4GHz, 52 degrees C.

RE: "Vegas has stopped working" error & AMD Radeon
HP specs says it has an HD4000 onboard and the HD8600. Did you update your Video drivers from AMD, and Intel if both GPUs are seen in Device Manger? How about the rest of the hardware drivers, like sound, chipset INFs, NICs, and BOIS up to the

RE: Vegas 12 makes windows 7 freeze??
No you can not assume Disk0 is your boot disk. Disk order has to do with where the drives were plugged in to the controller, and install selections. On my system SSD boot is disk1, and spinning storage that used to be a boot disk is disk0. I

Actually this one is 512 shaders + GDDR5 memory :) http://www.hardwareluxx.com/index.php/reviews/hardware/vgacards/29726-test-sapphire-radeon-r7-250-ultimate-.html But yes, it's not the most modern GPU or CPU. I can't really justify more expensive

RE: Vegas via Bootcamp... any users here?
Thanks Johnny, The iMac 5K comes with an R9 290 I believe. So I should be sure to get AMD's drivers for Mac and not Apples? My PC at the moment is spec'ed quite a bit higher than the iMacs, so this is something I am looking at considering for the

@FPP Except for a few frills, the changes are mostly in the way it looks. Right now I am giving my first impressions. After I use it a while, then I might start liking it. This is on my internet system. While installing it, there was one part

Can you do a full reinstall of the free Windows 10 upgrade on the same hardware without issues? (To clear the inevitable cobwebs that appear.)

RE: Catalyst Edit
@SCS I might just be old and jaded, but I think the idea of supporting the feature film people is a marketing mistake at this point in time. This would have been a hip move back in the 90ies, but now the NLE is becoming as ubiquitous as the word

RE: sot. dumb windoz question...
Posted by: Hulk, Date: 4/23/2015 1:58:50 AM But MS needs something to sell and my model doesn't really give people a reason to upgrade. A lot of that is MS urging the developers to drop support for old OS's with new versions of their software. To a
