  You could also get some fish footage, (since your example is fish) and motion track a fish, and then use the motion track data to animate your figure. There's probably a lot of clever ways once you dig down a bit.

  @Holly I use Mocha so can't give you the tracking info, but if you were adding a hat, that image would have to be a png of the hat with a transparent background, (or green screen or cut out in some way) the first video in that list shows adding text
