RE: New Computer for Pro 13
They are all NTFS. The 3TB Toshiba and 2TB WDs work fine as long as they are the only disk other than the boot disk, which happens to be 1TB. Thanks for your suggestions...I am really over my head. I am wondering if I need a BIOS upgrade, and there

RE: New motherboard - Movie Studio will not start
Hi Bryon, Yes, I installed as administrator. Movie Studio 12-64bit is now back up full speed. MS 12-32bit never would completely load and I've uninstalled it. MS 13-64bit won't find the Boris plug-ins or my Vaast plug-ins, so I think I need to

RE: Timeline Playback
@Derm If CUDA cores is all it takes for Vegas, the 600 and 700 series cards all have more cores then a GTX580 and yet are not any better but rather worse. As of today, the FERMI based cards are the best Nvidia has to offer for Vegas; I can't speak

RE: OT: Windows 10
On the subject of upgrades, I've had some pretty bizarre Windows experiences lately, which may strike a chord .... My 5 year old 17" Sony Vaio laptop had been discarded and almost forgotten, because it had developed a thick black line in the

A faster process for Blu-ray
I use Vegas pro for basic editing, as cut and paste, tittles etc. Having done that the process for producing the .ISO file is extremely slow. This is with Vegas or Architect. I cannot upgrade my computer or Windows version just yet, so I am

RE: OT - CPU's AMD FX 6300
You may want to do some more research on AMD processors for Vegas. The 8 core would be the only AMD CPU I would consider at the point of this writing. Waiting until January might be a good thing to consider, since with DDR4 emerging, we are

RE: New X99 Computer for Editing GH4 4K Video in VP13
I personally think that CPU is overpriced, in a few months that is going to be mainstream. Upgrade more often with less expensive things. 32GB is a good thing. I have seen HD projects run 6GB, and if you have anything rendering in the

"You really think this is likely to be a problem? It's going to bite a lot of people if it is." It was at least an intermittent problem for one Newegg customer. It's something you have to test with every hardware / software forklift upgrade.

RE: 8-core Haswell-E processor
Well, I am not going to be first. I'm due for an upgrade but it will probably be the i7-5930K. I'll wait for the extensive reviews to decide for sure. I just have a hard time paying above the sweet spot when it comes to computer hardware.

RE: Best workflow for editing 4K in Vegas?
Or, one could do what I did and get the HDRCX900/B and stay in 2k land instead. Shoot, no-one here wants Blu-Ray, so why bother with 4k? A funny little thing called 'budget' says this is what I have to do. I still get most of the benefits. I got

RE: Capture Problem: Loud Noise in Device Select Windo
Hm, can't help you directly, but if you still have version 9, why not capture with it, and do the edit in v11? Does the problem persist? Second, as far as I remember, Vegas' capturing programme through firewire, is the same for version 9 and version

RE: NVIDIA Driver 340.52 Appears Very Stable!
Gary I used driver 275.33 for a long time on my GTX460 and and it worked flawless with VP11 and VP12. I have not tried it on VP13 but I am certain it will here too. You could try and use that driver but I am not certain if a GTS250 will actually

RE: NVIDIA Driver 340.52 Appears Very Stable!
Unfortunately nVidia appears to have abandoned those of us with older PCs and video cards. I have a 2008 Gateway PC with i7 processor, 6 GB RAM and GeForce GTS 250 video card. I haven't been able to use GPU rendering for more than two years

RE: Is New Blue Titler Pro 3 worth it?
I've been doing this video thing for quite a while now. Not very many years ago the price of doing a fraction of what Titler Pro 3 can do was way beyond what any of us could afford, both in terms of software and the rather hefty hardware it would

RE: VP13 - External preview crash
I've seen no connectors for a bridge, afaik they can only be used without bridge. It works ok, at least I got near double framerates with Tomb Raider after the upgrade compared to before, which ran it's benchmark at about 60 FPS on Ultra. For gaming

@paul - i appreciate your comment and analogy, but to carry it forward, if you bought your steinbeck and found that the sprockets didn't quite line up with the film as advertised i think you'd be first in line asking for your money

RE: I found the best graphics card for Vegas Pro 12.0
Maybe I come from a different place. When VP11 was first released I immediately jumped onto it as my current system at that time, VP10 with a GTX460, was still not what I expected in terms of timeline playback. With VP11 I immediately could get

RE: OT: What's new in Windows 8.1 Update 1
I will be updating my systems specs soon. Now if I can only figure out what I tossed in that case. LOL! I was using the 335.23 NVidia drivers. Preview speed was much better than with Windows 7 and the 296.10 drivers. However, the rendering time was
