  Thanks for clarifying, I've only worked with older GoPros. FWIW, experimental HEVC decoding is so4compound, which can actually be fast with some HEVC types and at least Intel iGPUs.

  Presumably your last version was building a video proxy, based on your description. Is your new version building a video proxy when you introduce your beefy GoPro clips? You will know from the progress bar on the lower left.

  Yes, 4K and 5.3K in GoPro 11 is HEVC only (most unfortunately) so its unlikely that the legacy AVC setting will have any effect. Instead, try checking the experimental HEVC decoding setting in File I/O and see if that helps.

  I'm definitely seeing the same thing -- laggy, including while scrubbing through the timeline or trimming clips on the timeline. Gopro 5k but via Vegas proxies. Legacy AVC not enabled. Big difference from the previous build, which was very smooth

  Yes, the RTX 3060 (not Ti) is in my system now. Not sure why, but the following has me wanting to blame the new PC. On my old Windows 10 i7-3770K (using iGPU) I can play a 5.3K/29.97 FPS HEVC file from my GoPro using VLC or the Movies & TV ap.
