  Windows does not support HLG preview, best to work in HDR10. Make sure you have your footage set to the right color space (right click, properties, media, color space, make sure rec2020 (1000 nits) is selected. Try other Rec2020 flavors or HLG

  For some reason I thought Voukoder on Vegas was limited to 10bit maybe related to the smaller pipeline to maintain quality but that can't be true for 3388 colors on a darkened grayscale image, it likely would have 3899 unique colors if processed

  I highly recommend trying VP 22's color grading panel which adds many of the useful features Davinci has like color curves (you can change hue vs sat, etc. quickly here). I stopped going to Davinci for color correction as VEGAS is mostly good
